2014 iFlex Preview
You can hear the sounds of a jazz band echoing off the murky waters of the Mississippi River. Shining through a dark Louisiana night are the bright lights of a city that is alive. The city of New Orleans, its iconic sights, sounds and Cajun culture make visitors feel at home like only true southern hospitality can.
New Orleans and the Automotive Oil Change Association (AOCA) welcome you to attend the 2014 International Fast Lube Expo (iFLEX) March 10-12, 2014 at the New Orleans Convention Center and Hilton New Orleans Riverside hotel.
Mark your calendar and make travel plans. The iFLEX three-day event is a great place to network, share ideas and make new friends while learning innovative new ways to help your business thrive. AOCA has appropriately named this year’s convention, “New Trends, New Friends, New Orleans.” The attendance of fast lube vendors, operators and managers make iFLEX the best place to learn about a new product for your business or discuss a way to overcome a challenge.
It wouldn’t be an AOCA sponsored event without some great educational sessions. This year, AOCA and iFLEX promise to emphasize important and interesting content at over 17 educational sessions. In the quick lube business, you can never have car counts that are too high, have too many good employees or attend too many iFLEX educational sessions. That’s a fact, Jack! Check out the iFLEX schedule on page 18 and pick a few sessions to take part in. Topics include marketing strategies, employee engagement, products you should keep in stock and how to introduce new services to your business.
The first opportunity to learn is at an all day event on Sunday, March 9. Attending this special session from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. will give newcomers to AOCA and veterans an opportunity to learn about best practices and keys to success from successful industry professionals. There is a registration add-on fee of $200 for AOCA members and $300 for non-members.
Educational sessions kick off on Monday and go from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Subjects covered will be managing your business, engaging your employees, marketing, adding services and inventory management. That evening, head over to the President’s Welcome Reception at 5:00 p.m. and talk about everything you’ve learned.
Although New Orleans has so much to offer, don’t stay out too late on Monday night. You’ll want to enjoy the continental breakfast on Tuesday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. before the day gets going. After you have eaten, grab a cup of joe and catch any educational sessions you may have missed on Monday afternoon from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. then listen to keynote speaker, Mike Rayburn at 10:30 a.m. Rayburn is an expert on personal development and human potential.
It isn’t just any motivational talk. Rayburn will use his experience with stand-up comedy and playing the guitar to challenge you to access your untapped potential. After listening to him a little and laughing a lot, you may just see things in a new light. It could be just what you need to breathe new life and inspiration into yourself, your business and your employees.
Now that you’re inspired and your abs hurt from laughing, walk over to the exhibit hall, you’ll be able to tour the most current technology, products and services in the industry. At lunchtime, silence that rumbling stomach with lunch, which will be offered in the exhibit hall from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
