Theodore Roosevelt once said, “No man has the right to withhold his support from an organization that is striving to improve conditions within his sphere.”

Which is why fast lube industry owners, operators and suppliers need to get involved in your industry through membership in its premiere representation association, the Automotive Oil Change Association (AOCA). Follow AOCA closely to ensure that you are able to take advantage of the many services, products and events the association offers.

You may be asking yourself, “Why should I join an association such as the AOCA? I don’t have time to bother with that sort of thing. My life is hectic enough already; there’s not enough time.” The reality is time spent bettering yourself or your company is time well spent, and membership dues are but a drop in the bucket for what you get out of association membership. Whether you are a mom-and-pop operation or a large enterprise, association membership benefits everyone. There’s no discrimination, the doors are open to everyone.

The key to belonging to an association is networking with your peers. Not only does it provide the opportunity to meet individuals who share common interests and face the same challenges as you every day, it can also spark the beginning of a new friendship. After all, one can never have too many contacts in the fast lube industry.

AOCA has several ways to get information to members; the “Oil Changing Times” is sent quarterly. Within the pages is priceless information touching on all the topics that affect your association and your industry — equipment, new trends, background history, environmental, managerial and legislative issues, as well as technical and mechanical information. You can find news on new products and services AOCA offers its members, upcoming meetings, new standards and industry news. “Oil Changing Times” keeps its members informed on the latest developments among association members.

“You Auto Know” is our monthly e-newsletter; it will keep you informed about both industry and AOCA news and events. “Raising Awareness,” our newest e-news bulletin, keeps you up to date on things happening in the industry, community service opportunities, proposed changes in regulatory and compliance matters, and lets you know when you need to take action. Other electronic announcements remind you of upcoming training opportunities, member benefits, and new products and services AOCA offers to members.
