Ford Expands Quick Lane Chain
Ford Motor Company recently announced that its Quick Lane chain of automotive service centers is approaching 600 stores nationally after opening nearly 100 new stores in 2009. Ford expects to reach the 600-store mark early this year. The program is also expanding globally, having recently opened stores in Singapore and Costa Rica.
“We are very pleased with the growth we experienced in 2009,” said Frederiek Toney, vice president of Ford’s Customer Service Division.
Quick Lane offers routine vehicle maintenance such as oil and filter changes, and light repair services such as brake repairs and tire replacements. Routine maintenance services on competitive models (non-Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles) have increased year-over-year and now make up 24 percent of Quick Lane business on a national level. In addition, tire sales are up 7 percent and battery sales are up 13 percent year-over-year.
“With the rapid increase in service of competitive makes, our business has continued to grow at a very steady pace,” Toney said..
