Though the community has already been pulling together and helping victims of Hurricane Harvey, a Dothan man is already stepping up to the plate to take donations to Hurricane Irma victims.

Rob Gilbreath, general manager of Mighty Auto Parts in Dothan, will drive a truck down to Florida Monday, September 18th, to bring supplies to hurricane-devastated areas.

He is encouraging the Wiregrass to help: bottled water, canned goods, pet food, cleaning supplies, diapers, and baby wipes are some of most-needed items.

Rob is a former resident of Jacksonville and Tampa, Florida, and knows all too well the destruction a major hurricane can leave behind.

"It's sad to watch others go through devastation, and just stand back and not do anything about it,” says Gilbreath. “And I just think it's our obligation to step in and help when we can."

Mighty Auto Parts is located at 203 Vulcan Way in Dothan. The store is open from 8 to 5 Monday through Friday, but you can call Rob at 334-589-3423 if you have any last minute supplies to bring over the weekend.

However, the Houston County EMA says driving down to evacuated areas is risky and not recommended.
