March 10, 2020—Plans for a new Valvoline Instant Oil Change in Derby, Kan., are set in motion, reports the Derby Informer.
According to the report, a site plan was submitted to the Derby Planning Commission, which approved the request on March 5.
Construction for the business will start in May with a planned opening date in early fall.
Phillip Morrison, market manager for VIOC, currently has 21 franchise operations, with 19 of them in the Kansas City, Mo., area, one in Topeka, Kan., and one in Wichita., Kan. Along with the Derby store, he wants to add more VIOC's in the metro market.
With over 800 franchise locations, Morrison said it's a highly-competitive business.
