AOCA Urges for CARES Act Amendments

April 16, 2020

The Automotive Oil Change Associations (AOCA) is urging automotive industry professionals to fight for amendments in the CARES Act.

April 16, 2020—The Automotive Oil Change Associations (AOCA) sent out a press release urging automotive industry professionals to fight for amendments in the CARES Act.

According to the release, the AOCA deemed the amendments necessary in order to provide COVID-19 disaster relief for critical infrastructure businesses to preserve the U.S. economy and promote a fully functional restart.

The following CARES Act relief plan upgrades include expanding the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP)—increasing loan amounts and size of the PPP fund for forgivable loans, and requiring the Small Business Administration to extend the loan repayment time limit—adding a "Workplace Preservation Program" to cover small business mortgage and lease costs, and establishing business interruption insurance must cover COVID-19 as a "dangerous condition" or other covered natural disaster.

To help with the amendments, contact your local senator and state representative.
