June 10, 2020—A recent college graduate held a fundraiser at her family's car wash and quick lube, asking for donations instead of usual graduation gifts, reports the Winona Daily News.

According to the report, Emelia Schindeldecker, a recent graduate from Concordia University - Wisconsin, celebrated her graduation at her family's business, Gilmore Avenue Car Was and Quick Lube, in Winona, Minn.

Schindeldecker was able to raise $1,000 for Feed the Kids, a fund that helps guarantee all students at Winona Area Public Schools continue to receive access to nutritious school meals. While Schindeldecker asked for donations instead of graduation gifts, proceeds from the shop's car washes purchased went to the fund as well.
