Dec. 14, 2020—A trade group representing automakers has slowed the implementation of the Right to Repair law in Massachusetts.
The group lobbied the state's attorney general to not enforce the law until there's a federal ruling on court challenges, according to a report at MSN Autos. The trade group, the Alliance for Automotive Innovation, represents OEMs like Toyota, Hyundai, Ford, Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles, Honda and others.
The law was intended to take effect starting with 2022 model year vehicles. Right to Repair passed with Massachusetts voters in November with 75 percent of the vote.
