August 10, 2021—Due to ongoing global supply chain shortages caused by COVID-19, BOSS Lubricants said it expects product shortages and higher prices for its products for the foreseeable future.

In a news release, the company says that it will be allocating its products to customers until supply is able to catch up to demand on all products.

“We’re managing as best we can, but as one of our suppliers has told us, every component of the supply chain is under unprecedented strain right now,” BOSS Lubricants President Jarrett Flegel said. “Unfortunately, in the near term, that means tight supply and higher costs for BOSS, and in turn for our customer base. But we’re committed to working with our valued customers to get through this.”

The company attributed the shortages to a depleted workforce, renewed demand and other labor shortages, which it says has caused supply chain issues for the base oils and other materials it uses to produce its lubricants.
