Jan. 26, 2022—More than 70 percent of respondents to a Goldman Sachs survey say they saw revenue drop over the past few weeks due to the surge of the Omicron variant.

The survey, which was reported on by the New York Post, found four in every five businesses say they would support additional help from the federal government to help weather the surge. According to Census Bureau data, around 9 million workers had to miss some time at work in the first weeks of 2022 alone due to COVID.

Some 37 percent of businesses reported a scaling back of some kind in that same period, and nearly 80 percent say they are still concerned about the impact of the Omicron variant.
