April 27, 2022—McCarthy Tire Service purchased Classic Tire Service Inc. in Barclay, Maryland earlier this month, According to an article in The Star Democrat.
Classic Tire is a single location shop that has historically provided farm tire sales and services to its customers, as it is located in a predominantly agricultural-driven area.
The shop has been purchased by McCarthy from Milton and Dawn Karbaum. Milton will stay on to manage the Barclay location, and all of the Classic Tire team will remain on staff as well.
“Milton is an inspiration. He started his company from scratch and grew it into a successful business serving an important market. He takes great personal care of his agricultural customers,” said John D. McCarthy Jr., president of McCarthy Tire Service according to the article.
McCarthy provides tire sales and services for a vast range of clientele spanning from commercial trucks and industrial equipment to forestry equipment, off-the-road vehicles, passenger vehicles and more.
They also offer 24-hour commercial roadside assistance and automotive mechanical repairs and services. This purchase will allow them to serve the prevalent surrounding farming community on the Eastern Shore.
“We’ve been in the tire business for over 40 years and now we’re excited to turn the reins over to a company, that I believe, can help us to grow in our community and to provide even better service to our customers,” said Milton Karbaum, president of Classic Tire Service Inc., according to the article.
