Samaritan Car Care Gets Land to Build Garage

April 29, 2022

Samaritan will open the first fully nonprofit vehicle repair shop in their region by the year's end, made possible by a donation of land.

April 29, 2022—Kentucky-based nonprofit car repair service Samaritan Car Care Clinic will finally get its own garage after 15 years of working out of borrowed shop spaces.

According to Local 12, Samaritan has received a land donation in Covington, Kentucky that will allow them to develop a garage to conduct their complimentary vehicle maintenance services for low-income individuals.

"Many of the families live paycheck to paycheck, and then something happens and they don’t have any savings to work on the car,” said Bruce Kintner, Director of Samaritan Car Care Clinic.

Samaritan began as a service of free quarterly maintenance clinics for single mothers located at Walther Auto Body, but has since ballooned to offer a variety of car repair services run out of multiple shops in the Covington area.

Demand as continued to grow throughout the years, and due to the support of referral partners and sponsors, the space that Samaritan needs to keep up with this demand will make their dedicated garage a reality.

Kintner plans to have the space up and running by the end of the year.
