Aug. 1, 2022—A man has gone from intern to manager at a Jiffy Lube location in just three years.
According to AZ Family, 19-year-old Francisco Rojas of Avondale, Arizona, secured a Jiffy Lube paid internship through a connection with the Boys and Girls Club AZYouthForce Academy.
At the Academy, Rojas learned professional development skills that helped him prepare for a career.
Due to the success of his internship, Rojas has been able to work his way up. Now, he is a store manager.
“It’s funny. I used to be the new hire messing up, but now I get to tell other kids how to do things and what to do,” Rojas said, according to AZ Family.
Rojas hopes that his story will inspire other young people.
“I never thought I’d be here, be a manager and have my own store. I never thought about that, now I’m living it, so there is hope out there. Keep going; don’t let anyone turn you down.”
