These businesses show how the automotive aftermarket can engage with young people and garner interest in the field.

Three automotive service businesses in Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin, are reaching out to local high school students to garner interest in the industry and to help prevent a future labor shortage.

WMTV 15 News reports on how a heavy-duty repair center and a dealership service center worked through WrenchWay to make contact with the high schoolers. Representatives mentioned that they hope to help students gain confidence in driving and car care, but they're also looking toward the next generation of colleagues.

“That’s where our new employees are now, you know?" said David Rowell of Kriete Truck Centers, according to the article.

Rowell also mentioned that his company is looking for people who are interested in automotive repair with specialized skills in computer technology and electrical systems in order to work on the latest generation of trucks.
