Preventative Automotive Maintenance Association Holding Management Certification Course in Florida

Feb. 22, 2024
PAMA will be holding a management certification course in Lakeland, Florida, this coming April.

The Preventative Automotive Maintenance Association has announced an upcoming management certification course in Lakeland, Florida.

The three-day course will take place from April 2 through April 4 at the True Brand/Solid Start Headquarters in Lakeland.

Participants will gain insight on a variety of topics, including manager responsibilities, attracting and retaining customers and employees, developing training programs, financial management, safety and OSHA, and regulatory compliance.

The course will kick off with a full day of instruction centered on how to optimize the operational aspects of a business. Attendees will learn about how to improve the customer’s experience, effective leadership strategies, how daily transactions interact with profit/loss statements, and more. This section will be led by industry professionals who already operate their own successful maintenance centers.

Breakfast and lunch are included for the course’s first and second days; the latter of which is slated to be a half-day of training focused on compliance and regulatory issues. Participants will learn the value of practices such as proper waste disposal, labeling, and how adequate recordkeeping can protect a business from retroactive claims.

Following the second day’s class period, attendees will then take an exam on the content they’ve learned. A score of 80% or higher will grant them PAMA Management Certification. The day will cap off with an evening reception to celebrate the attendees’ work.

Finally, the third day will have attendees put what they’ve learned to use through hands-on training sessions. As part of a new addition to PAMA’s certification course, different vendors will also be on-site advertising an array of products for preventative maintenance centers.

Online registration for the event will be open until April 2. The operator pricing for PAMA members is $550, with non-members paying $750. Those who send five or more employees to participate in the course are eligible for a 15% discount. More information on the event can be found on PAMA's website.
