Analysis: EVs Cost More Per Mile Driven

EVs have improved greatly but still cost more than internal combustion vehicles per mile.

Feb. 28, 2022—Electric vehicles have greatly reduced their costs per mile of range in the last decade, but they are still above that of a gasoline-powered vehicle.

An analysis shared by Business Insider says that the median EV costs $214 per mile of range, while an internal combustion engine vehicle costs $104. The EV cost has come down from $554 in 2012.
