Feb. 23, 2021—The House Budget Committee cleared the $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package sending the legislation to the chamber floor for a full vote, Fox Business reported.
Democrats are hoping to get the relief passed not only through the House but through the Senate as well before March 14, when unemployment insurance benefits are set to expire.
The package includes $1,400 direct payments to American households, aid for state and local governments, in addition to funding for small businesses and vaccine distribution efforts.
It is still unclear whether the federal minimum wage increase to $15 per hour will be included in the package.
