A new tire and service center has opened in downtown Dayton.

AAA Tire & Auto Service opened a new location at a site that until recently was the home of Gallagher Tire & Automotive, which left after the business owner said their lease was not renewed.

Gallagher is still operating out of other locations at 3050 Woodman Dr. in Kettering and 6551 Brandt Pike in Huber Heights.

The new service center at the corner of Third Street and St. Clair streets opened last week and currently employs three technicians and a manager, said store manager Tony Shook. He added that the location is new and that number could grow.

The store isn't the Cincinnati-based chain's first location in the Dayton market but is the first inside the Dayton city limits. AAA also has nearby locations in Huber Heights, Beavercreek and Franklin.
