The Chrysler 200 was completely redesigned in 2015 and sports a few new updates for the 2016 model year.

The 2016 Chrysler 200 features pioneering drivetrain technology, including a standard nine-speed automatic transmission, state-of-the-art electronic shifting and an all-wheel-drive system with an automatic, fully disconnecting rear axle, improving fuel economy by reducing parasitic loss when all-wheel drive is not needed. The sedan also offers 60 available safety and security features, including a rear backup camera, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross path detection, adaptive cruise control-plus, LaneSense plus with lane keep assist, forward collision warning-plus and parallel and perpendicular park assist.

2016 is the 90th year of Chrysler as a brand. To celebrate, a 90th Anniversary Package is being produced for the 2016 Chrysler 200 Limited model. In addition to the standard features, the 90th Anniversary Package adds as standard equipment: 8.4-inch touchscreen radio with Uconnect Access and SiriusXM Radio, a sunroof, Convenience Group (one-year Sirius XM Radio, body-color power heated mirrors, leather-wrapped steering wheel, power four-way driver lumbar adjust, power eight-way driver seat and sun visors with illuminating vanity mirrors), front floor mats with Chrysler Anniversary logo and a unique Chrysler Anniversary logo on the 8.4-inch touchscreen.

The 2016 Chrysler 200 is available in four models: 200 LX, 200 Limited, 200S and 200C. The 200 LX model is powered by the new 2.4-liter MultiAir 2 Tigershark I-4 engine, which produces 184 horsepower and 173 pound-feet of torque. It is mated to the nine-speed automatic transmission. A 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, which produces 295 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, is optional equipment on the Chrysler 200 Limited, 200S and 200C models.

An entry-level 2016 Chrysler 200 LX carries an MSRP of $21,995. A top-of-the-line 2016 Chrysler 200C, complete with the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, a nine-speed automatic transmission, Premium Group (which includes such items as exterior mirrors with memory, heated two-tone leather steering wheel, premium leather-trimmed vent seats and real wood and bronze chrome interior accents), Navigation and Sound Group (which includes such items as an Alpine 506-watt amplifier, nine Alpine speakers with subwoofer, GPS navigation, HD radio and SiriusXM), Premium Lighting Group (which includes HID headlamps with LED daytime running headlamps and LED fog lamps), Safetytec (which includes items such as adaptive cruise control, advanced brake assist, automatic high beam control, blind spot and cross path detection and lane departure warning), 19-inch polished aluminum wheels and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, will set a buyer back approximately $35,000.

Servicing the 2016 Chrysler 200

The 2016 Chrysler 200 is equipped with an automatic oil change indicator system. The oil change indicator system will remind a driver when it is time to take the vehicle in for scheduled maintenance. Based on engine operation conditions, the oil change indicator message will illuminate. This means that service is required on the vehicle. Operating conditions, such as short tips, towing a trailer or extremely hot or cold ambient temperatures will influence when the “Oil Change Required” message is displayed. Severe Operating Conditions can cause the change oil message to illuminate as early as 3,500 miles (5,600 km) since last reset. The vehicle should be serviced within 500 miles (805 km) of seeing this message.

Under no circumstances should oil change intervals exceed 10,000 miles (16,000 km), 12 months or 350 hours of engine run time, whichever comes first. The 350 hours of engine run or idle time is generally only a concern for fleet customers.

The engine oil should be changed at 4,000 miles (6,500 km) if the vehicle is operated in a dusty and off-road environment or is operated predominately at idle or only very low engine RPMs. This type of vehicle use is considered severe duty.

At every oil change interval as indicated by oil change indicator system:

• Change oil and filter

• Rotate tires

• Inspect battery and clean and tighten terminals as required

• Inspect brake pads, shoes, rotors, drums, hoses and park brake

• Inspect engine cooling system protection and hoses

• Inspect exhaust system

• Inspect engine air cleaner if using in dusty or off-road conditions

Every two years or 20,000 miles (32,000 km):

• Inspect CV joints

• Inspect front suspension, boot seals, tie rod ends and replace if necessary

• Inspect brake linings and parking brake function

• Replace air conditioning/cabin air filter

Every three years or 30,000 miles (48,000 km):

• Replace engine air cleaner filter

Every 100,000 miles (160,000 km):

• Replace spark plugs

Every 10 years or 100,000 miles (160,000 km):

• Inspect and replace PCV valve, if necessary

Every 10 years or 150,000 miles (240,000 km):

• Flush and replace engine coolant

Every 15 years or 150,000 miles (240,000 km):

• Inspect front accessory drive belt, tensioner, idler pulley and replace if necessary
