Griffin Brothers Tires, Wheels & Auto Repair has opened “Fast Lane” quick oil change lanes at four of its 10 retail retail stores in North Carolina in order to offer a service management felt was lacking in the dealership’s portfolio.

The stores now offering quick oil changes are in Lincolnton, Cornelius, Pineville and Highland Creek, according to Larry Griffin Jr., vice president of the Cornelius-based dealership. He pointed out that the Fast Lane name is not in any way affiliated with Ford Motor Co.’s stand-alone Fast Lane aftermarket tire and auto service franchise.

The addition of this service was relatively easy to carry out, Mr. Griffin said, since the Cornelius, Pineville and Highland Creek stores already had quick lube bays with full pits. At the Lincolnton store management designated two bays and three techs for the Fast Lane service.

The dealership plans to monitor the response to this initiative before considering adding Fast Lane service to other locations, Mr. Griffin said.

Family-owned Griffin Brothers has been serving the Charlotte area since 1961, when Larry Griffin Sr. bought Honest Tire from an uncle who hd operated that facility since 1928. The dealership added its 10th store in 2014, in Matthews, N.C., an eight-bay former Meineke Car Care location.
