Christian Brothers Automotive will open a repair shop in Virginia Beach next spring – its first in the state.

The company, which has 155 locations around the country, offers a full range of automotive repairs and services, from oil changes to engine replacements.

Though Christian Brothers is a national company, the shop will be locally owned and operated. The franchisee will hire five people initially and eventually grow to 12 to 15 team members, some full-time, some part-time, said Josh Wall, vice president of franchise and strategic development.

Christian Brothers started in 1982 and has been franchising for 20 years, Wall said. It chose Virginia Beach because it saw the potential customer base and a local resident wanted to partner with the company, he said.

A 5,000-square-foot building will be constructed on the east side of Holland Road, south of Warwick Drive. It will have a lobby, which Wall described as looking like a living room, and five vehicle repair bays in the back.

On its website, Christian Brothers describes its mission as, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Wall said the goal is to build trust with customers.

Another location is planned for Chesterfield County, near Richmond.
