Bridgestone has reached a deal to acquire the Speedy France car service and tire chain. The transaction, which still needs to clear regulatory hurdles, would increase Bridgestone’s presence in France to more than 800 outlets. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Eduardo Minardi, executive chairman and CEO of Bridgestone Europe, Middle East and Africa, called Speedy a strong strategic fit with a premium customer mix and extended geographical coverage.

“Furthermore, Speedy has a strong brand recognition and an innovative mindset,” Minardi said.

“I would also like to take the opportunity to warmly welcome the Speedy franchisees and to thank them for their contribution to make Speedy a great service provider,” Minardi said. “Given Speedy’s performance improvements in the past years, we want its CEO, Jacques Le Foll, and his team to continue to manage their activities in line with their strategic plan.”
