There was a fire at the Flyers Energy facility in the Sparks industrial area south of interstate 80 that the Sparks Fire Department quickly extinguished.
It burned in 500-gallon portable tanks that were mostly empty but did contain some motor oil, the Sparks Fire Department said. The department treated the incident at Wolverine and South Standford ways as a hazardous materials and tried to limit the spread of motor oil and any other chemicals.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
