A year has passed since David Weishoff purchased the auto body shop at Meffert’s One Stop on S. Division Street, and the improvements are visible.

David’s Certified Auto Repair now has a redesigned waiting area with a media center to plug into so customers can get a little work done while waiting for their vehicles.

Or, if customers would prefer to relax, they can check out the new lounge with a free coffee station and a large screen television.

On Monday, Aug. 15, Weisoff and his staff celebrated all of the improvements with a 1-year anniversary grand opening and ribbon cutting.

The week-long event includes prize drawings each day with gift cards for local restaurants and businesses, along with service specials and a grand prize drawing after the shop closes Friday. The winners of the Barry Alvarez autographed football and Apple TV will be announced Monday, Aug. 22.

Other improvements at David Certified Auto Repair have included new flooring throughout the reception area. All the technicians now have tablets, allowing them to work efficiently with access to information.

The shop has also been reorganized to create more space, and state-of-the-art equipment has been added.

“The goal was to cater to people that would normally take their car to the dealership and were more used to that sophistication,” Weishoff said, adding that the lounge has free wi-fi and cable television.

Loaner cars are now available, along with a shuttle services for customers.

Weishoff is a Class A Certified Master Technician. While attending classes, he worked for Jon Lancaster Toyota, first as a quick lube technician and then manager. Eventually, he became the master diagnostic technician. After six years in that position, he left to work for an independently owned auto service center before purchasing his own service center.

Weishoff is also a Class A hybrid technician and can service light duty diesel vehicles, as well.
