Next Gen Isosyn

Chevron Products Company, a Chevron U.S.A. Inc. division, recently introduced Isosyn Advanced Technology and its new line of Delo 400 API CK-4 and FA-4 heavy duty motor oils (HDMO) coming December 1, 2016.  As part of its product rollout, Chevron will be launching a

new advisor service created to help customers select the best products for them by assessing their business needs, analyzing their current lubricant choices and developing a customized action plan specific to their needs.

Chevron unveiled the next generation of its Isosyn Advanced Technology — a unique combination of Chevron’s formulation expertise, high performance additive chemistry and premium base oils — that helps extend the durability of critical diesel engine parts. Isosyn Advanced Technology enables increased durability, through better oxidation control, anti-wear protection and piston control, while extending drain intervals compared to API CJ-4 oils.

Leveraging the powerful Isosyn Advanced Technology, the new Delo 400 product line offers optimized performance and better engine protection than any prior Delo product, extending the life of the vehicle and helping minimize the cost of ownership. The new Delo 400 product line will be available in a variety of viscosities and will support both API CK-4 and FA-4 HDMO categories.

Print Labels with Ease

Colonial Label Company recently released a new, easier to use keypad. The KP-200 Plus black keypad is a great size for typing because of the spacing between buttons. It is also compatible with some Zebra printers. The black color makes it easier to keep clean and gives the keypad a sleek look.

The TTP-225 printer, along with the KP-200 Plus keypad, make an effective combination especially when it comes to changing the ink ribbon, which takes less than 30 seconds. There is also no wait time to turn the printer system on.

Education Station

ITW Professional Automotive Products recently introduced the new Tech U Training and Rewards Program. It is now live and available to customers who purchase and sell Full Throttle, Gumout Professional, Heartland, MileGuard and Rain-X wiper blade products.

The program is free and accessible via PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone. There are in-depth training modules on fuel system cleaning, oil system, transmission system, cooling system, power steering system and wiper blades. Each module addresses how the systems work, why maintenance is needed, how to perform maintenance services, selling techniques and a 20-question test. Upon completion of all six training co

urses, the participant will receive a framed certificate of completion, a certified tech head hat and become eligible to participate in the rewards program.

When participants sell Full Throttle, Gumout Professional, Heartland or MileGuard fuel system cleaners or fuel system cleaning services, they earn points redeemable for cash rewards and a chance to win the grand prize of $10,000 or one of 40 secondary prizes at years end.

Sludge Be Gone

Penray recently introduced a new 7612 Crankcase and Differential Cleaner. This innovative chemical blend can dissolve sludge and othe

r deposits and actually collect moisture so these contaminants can be safely drained out before they can cause damage.

Suitable for use in the crankcases of gasoline and diesel engines, as well as in differentials, this new blend includes a combination of solvents that dislodge crankcase and differential deposits so they can be removed by simply draining the oil. In the process, it also removes harmful deposits from valvetrain components, pistons and piston rings, where such deposits could otherwise compromise engine performance and longevity.

Penray’s new cleaner also includes a glycol ether compound that collects moisture that can accumulate throughout the crankcase or differential, which is safely flushed away when the oil is drained. Left untreated, moisture can compromise the lubricity of the oil and can also lead to rust and corrosion on vital internal engine or differential components.

Lift It Up

Forward Lift’s new FS77 scissor lift is packed with advanced efficiency features that make it a reliable lift for smaller service bays and quick-service tasks. Third-party tested and certified by the Automotive Lift Institute (ALI) to meet industry safety and performance standards, the Forward Lift FS77 scissor lift uses less than 44 square feet of space and features a low-profile 4 1/8-inch drive-over height for easy vehicle positioning. Its 24- and 34-inch independent platforms accommodate a wide range of vehicles and pick-up points. Ramps attached to the platforms are hinged to drop down to a 65-degree angle to increase accessibility for easier brake and wheel service or lock in the up position to extend the pick-up point surface area. The lift’s 78 5/8-inch rise height creates working space for even the tallest technicians. It has a 7,700-pound lifting capacity.

The Forward Lift FS77 scissor lift features an easy-to-operate control panel and several features designed to protect against corrosion and wear, such as composite bearings, galvanized bottom weldment and a durable powder coated paint finish.

Inventory Update

ShowMeTheParts has added a new feature to its database called near real-time inventory and stock status updates. By automating the update process, turn-around times have been virtually eliminated for greater reporting accuracy. The auto-update inventory feature downloads the inventory and stock status automatically at regular intervals from every 24 hours to as often as every hour.

With this new auto-update feature, inventory information downloads from an FTP site, hosted either by the manufacturer/supplier or Vertical Development, and matches up the contents with the parts listed in ShowMeTheParts. This automation eliminates the need to process the file and enter data into a system manually. When a customer visits the parts supplier’s website, they see the number of pieces available for a given part number, listed alongside photos, parts attributes and other information.

Virtual Garage Learning

Robert Bosch LLC, a supplier of technology and services, has announced the addition of Bosch 2D Virtual Garage, an interactive training and skills assessment resource, to its Bosch Online Learning Portal.

In the Bosch 2D Virtual Garage, participants working with diagnostic tools typically found in a standard repair shop are faced with a specific fault and will attempt to diagnose the issue on a virtual vehicle. The vehicle is equipped with a 2.5-liter gasoline direct injection (GDI) engine. Specific parts can be selected on a schematic board, the diagnostic data associated with that part can be reviewed and the participant can then decide which part is the source of the fault.

Once the diagnosis phase is complete, the parts department can be opened and service parts selected and installed. Finally, a virtual road test will determine if the vehicle has been repaired.

Skills will be measured throughout the exercise using a real-time clock. Once the repair is complete, participants can compare their results against the standard time needed to complete the fault and can retry the challenge to better understand the diagnostic process. The program provides exposure to a variety of diagnostic tools and test processes, some of which may not be familiar to the participant, offerin

g the opportunity for additional learning. Experience working on a GDI engine is also valuable, as one-fourth of all vehicles worldwide will be equipped with a GDI system by 2020.

The Bosch 2D Virtual Garage Fault One scenario is currently available at no charge. Additional scenarios will be added in the months ahead for a nominal charge.

Slip Resister

Cintas Corporation recently launched the Cintas Traffic Mat, a new floor mat featuring the highest traction rating ever recorded by the National Floor Safety Institute (NFSI).  This means the mats high-traction backing has far exceeded minimum requirements set in place by the NFSI. The Cintas Traffic Mat is part of their new High Performance Series, a line of mats that helps businesses get ready for the workday.

For more than 15 years, the NFSI has tested slip resistance to develop its current, comprehensive evaluation process. Mats certified as high-traction offer greater slip resistance to meet safety regulations.

The Cintas Traffic Mat features a heavier weight rubber backing with tire-grip technology. This backing provides high traction to help the mat withstand foot, wheel and cart traffic.  The mat is well suited for high-traffic areas.
