A Canton car dealership took a direct hit when a twister roared through town Saturday evening. Interstate 20 Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Canton received widespread damage to a new showroom and maintenance facility. Dozens of cars and trucks on the parking lot were thrown like toys. Some landed on their sides and even upside down. An employee said nobody was at the dealership at the time the tornado hit. The business is located on Interstate 20 just east of Canton. Dozens of cars and trucks on the parking lot were thrown like toys. Some landed on their sides and even upside down.

An employee said nobody was at the dealership at the time the tornado hit.

The business is located on Interstate 20 just east of Canton.

The National Weather Service reports at least three tornadoes in Henderson, Van Zandt and Rains counties.

Canton Mayor Lou Ann Everett said Sunday morning five people were killed in the storm, that number was revised to four by Sunday evening.

"We won't know what exactly we are dealing with until the sun comes up," Everett said Saturday. "We have no power. We have three major transmission stations that are damaged."

Van Zandt County has signed a disaster declaration and first responders have descended on the area from as far as 100 miles away.
