Jasper Police Identify Two Men Killed When Pickup Crashes Through Auto Shop

Two men were killed Monday when a pickup truck crashed through an auto shop in Jasper. Oscar Rivera, 26, and Louis Castro, 29, who were inside the shop detailing a vehicle, were struck and killed by the truck that was traveling north on U.S. 96 according to a press release from the Jasper Police Department. The two were pronounced dead at the scene by Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Brett Holloway according to the release. Two men were killed Monday when a pickup truck crashed through an auto shop in Jasper.

Oscar Rivera, 26, and Louis Castro, 29, who were inside the shop detailing a vehicle, were struck and killed by the truck that was traveling north on U.S. 96 according to a press release from the Jasper Police Department.

The two were pronounced dead at the scene by Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Brett Holloway according to the release.

Police do not know why a 2007 Ford F 150 pickup driven by Joe Clifton Dickerson, 62, left the road  and crashed through the front south-facing wall as well as the rear wall of Abel's Auto Detailing just before Noon on Monday.

Police said that Dickers appeared to have left the road and driven through the shops parking lot before crashing through the building.

Dickerson was transported by ambulance to the Jasper Country Airport where he was transported by helicopter to East Texas Medical Center in Tyler according to the release.

Officers with the Texas Department of Public Safety are assist Jasper officers with the investigation.
