A burglary suspect has been charged with setting fire to a West Side shop he allegedly broke into last month, the El Paso Fire Department said. Luis Alberto Sosa, 31, was re-booked into jail on a felony arson charge Wednesday, a day after he was arrested by El Paso police on a burglary charge. A burglary suspect has been charged with setting fire to a West Side shop he allegedly broke into last month, the El Paso Fire Department said.

Luis Alberto Sosa, 31, was re-booked into jail on a felony arson charge Wednesday, a day after he was arrested by El Paso police on a burglary charge.

Sosa allegedly stole tires, tools and cash from the Pit Stop Lube Center, 309 Shadow Mountain Drive, police said. Sosa was allegedly in the shop for more than two hours during the burglary on the night of Aug. 20.

The arrest followed an investigation by police and fire officials.

An El Paso County jail log shows that Sosa was released on a $40,000 bond on Thursday.
