The Vegas Strong Charity Car Meet
Local car community generates more than $50,000 for the Las Vegas Victim Fund
People often come together in times of sorrow and the car community is no stranger to this. A tragic event took place in Las Vegas, Nevada on the night of October 1, 2017, however that didn’t stop the automotive community rallying together for a cause. Las Vegas has a strong hold of automotive enthusiasts, and they assemble in support during times of need. Several of those prominent members of the local automotive scene decided they wanted to host a benefit car show with all proceeds going to the Victim Relief Fund.
The key players of this event organization were Gary Schumacher from Hellkat Racers, Jesse Coronado from 360 Car-Shows, Ryan Hamilton and Scott Hartshorne from Celebrity Cars Las Vegas, and Hussain Mahrous, Vice President and General Manager of the M Resort Spa and Casino. Mahrous offered is lot to host the car show knowing what an impact this event would have. In just four days time, donations poured in and people were rallying together around the October 7th Vegas Strong Charity Car Meet.
The benefit was planned in just four days, exceeded all expectations and amassed over 700 vehicle participants. While all makes and models were represented, the Ford community came out in full force.
Representatives from Silver State Mustangs, Model A Ford Club, Vegas Valley Mustang Club, Mustang and Classic Ford Club, and many others arrived in support. In all, more than $ 22,000 was raised for the Las Vegas Victim Fund. Vice President and General Manager of the M Hussain Mahrous tells us, “A proud sponsor of the car and bike, M Resort and its parent company Penn National Gaming, are donating the car meet beverage sales and also matching the total proceeds, giving an additional $ 28,000 to the National Compassion Fund Las Vegas for victims of crime.
Both the Las Vegas Victims Fund and the National Compassion Fund Las Vegas are working in tandem to distribute 100 percent of the proceeds to the victims of the Route 91 Harvest festival shooting.”
