Chevrolet recently introduced an all-new 2018 Equinox.

The 2018 Equinox offers purposeful technology that helps keep passengers safe, comfortable and connected. The new Equinox has a richer, more detailed design featuring chrome trim on all models. The interior takes advantage of Equinox's all-new architecture to offer a down-and-away instrument panel, while a low windshield base provides a commanding outward view. It also offers a comprehensive suite of available active safety technologies and adaptive crash-avoidance features that provide ease of use and peace of mind on the road.

Available advanced safety features to enhance driver awareness on the road include radar- and camera-based adaptive technologies that can provide alerts to potential crash threats, allowing the driver to react and make changes to avoid them, including: safety alert seat, surround vision, forward collision alert with following distance indicator, low-speed forward automatic braking, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, rear seat reminder, lane change alert with side blind zone alert and rear cross traffic alert.

The Equinox comes with a choice of three turbocharged engines - 1.5L turbo, 2.0L turbo or a 1.6L turbo-diesel, offering an estimated 40 mpg hwy. A new nine-speed automatic transmission is paired with the 2.0L turbo engine.

An available switchable AWD system enhances efficiency by disconnecting from the rear axle when not needed.

The 2018 Equinox is offered in L, LS, LT (1LT/1.5L, 2LT/2.0L and 3LT/diesel) and Premier (1LZ/1.5L, 2LZ/2.0L and 3LZ/diesel) trims.

An entry-level L 1.5L turbo Equinox carries a starting MSRP of $24,575. A top-of-the-line, fully loaded Premier 2.0L turbo AWD with a nine-speed automatic transmission will run a buyer just north of $40,400.

Servicing the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox

When the "Change Engine Oil Soon" message displays, the engine oil and filter should be changed within the next 600 miles (1,000 km). If driven under the best conditions, the engine oil life system may not indicate the need for vehicle service for up to a year. The engine oil and filter must be changed at least once a year, and the oil life system must be reset. On vehicles with diesel engines, it is recommended to drain the diesel fuel filter of water when the oil is changed or when the "Water in Fuel Contact Service" message displays.
