Damage to Lube Tech, 1130 W. U.S. 30, could be seen Monday afternoon, with debris in the parking lot and several windows broken.

Patterson said some of glass windows on the service center garage melted out, which allowed firefighters to hit the fire directly and put it out almost immediately, Patterson said.

He said there were no injuries, but the service station sustained heat and smoke damage. He said the car that caught fire had been brought in for electrical problems.

The St. John and Lake Hills fire departments assisted on the scene, and Dyer stood by at the Schererville station in case another fire broke out.
