As part of a growing partnership between American Cancer Society and Valvoline Instant Oil Change℠ (VIOC), more than 80 Southern California VIOC service centers will offer customers an opportunity during the month of June to support American Cancer Society’s Road To Recovery program.
Road To Recovery provides free rides to patients who otherwise may miss potentially life-saving cancer treatment. Drivers who volunteer in this program use their own vehicles to take cancer patients to and from treatment appointments. Each year, thousands of free rides are provided in California alone.
Customers who make a donation to Road To Recovery will have the opportunity to display a donor card at the automotive centers, creating a visual wall celebrating VIOC customer generosity.
The fundraising campaign launches Friday, June 1, and runs until Saturday, June 30. Previously, American Cancer Society and VIOC partnered for a holiday fundraiser where VIOC customers donated more than $20,000 to Road To Recovery and VIOC donated free oil changes to volunteer drivers.
“Thank you, Valvoline for recognizing Road To Recovery drivers,” says Stephanie Deagle, who recently received recognition from the American Cancer Society for driving patients 500 times over the last eight years. “Transportation is the major barrier for patients seeking cancer treatment. It is so important that this trusted brand is helping cancer patients on the Road To Recovery.” Deagle was one of many drivers who received a free oil change at VIOC in recognition of her distinguished volunteer commitment.
