An employee was shot Tuesday afternoon, October 16, at the Quick Lube Service Center on Marguerite Mine Road in Auburn, California. The incident began when 41-year-old Joseph De La Cruz Jr. walked into the shop and asked to speak to a female employee, who was his soon-to-be ex-wife, according to FOX40. The two spoke outside, but after the woman returned to work, De La Cruz retrieved a gun from his pickup truck and went inside. According to police department reports, the victim has been hospitalized.

De La Cruz fled the scene, triggering a manhunt that continued until Wednesday morning.
