A safety recall issued by Ford addresses a shifter cable bushing that could detach, causing the car to unintentionally slide into another gear.

The bushing has been found to “degrade and detach from the transmission,” according to the recall notice. It could also cause the car to roll away in neutral after the driver has stopped, placed the shifter in park and removed the key. Three reports of property damage and one injury have surfaced as part of this issue, Ford said.

The recall affects 259,182 Fusion cars in the United States, 20,282 in Canada and 3,765 in Mexico. For comparison, Ford sold more than 300,000 Fusions in the United States in each of 2014 and 2015, though sales dropped to fewer than 200,000 last year.

The recall is limited to Fusions with the 2.5 L engine in model years 2013 through 2016.
