AOCA: New website, Q and A, Management Course

July 31, 2019

The AOCA brings a new website, management course and a Q and A this month.

AOCA Launching New Website and AOCA Talk Member Forum

This summer, AOCA is launching a newly redesigned website, and an updated AOCA Talk member-forum. These technology upgrades put emphasis on the member experience like never before. The new streamlined website will allow visitors to navigate the site with ease, and it offers mobile friendly capabilities. Members will be able to sign up for an event or renew their membership seamlessly on their smartphone.

Peer to peer engagement is one of the primary reasons AOCA exists. The new website will allow for easier engagement with your fellow members. The updated AOCA Talk member-forum is integrated with the AOCA website. No longer will members need to visit a separate website, or be required to have separate log-in information. Members will also be able to visit the AOCA Talk forum via a mobile app!

Our objective is to provide members with the tools, resources and connections needed to be

successful in the fast lube business. We hope these upgrades will help you more easily connect with your peers, and access the benefits and resources available to AOCA members.

Join Us at an Upcoming Management Certification Course

How well are you and your team equipped to handle the challenging and ever-changing world of fast lube center management? AOCA’s Management Certification Course is a two-day program that will ensure you are well suited to excel in your daily operations. Areas covered include manager responsibilities, leadership techniques, safety and regulatory compliance, training employees, attracting and retaining customers, and much more. The course ends with an exam, and those who pass earn the AOCA Certified Manager designation.

There are two remaining opportunities to participate in the course in 2019. Join us in Irvine, Calif., on August 6-7 or Dallas on September 10-11. For details or to sign up, visit AOCA.org/Events.

AOCA Board Spotlight Series

This month, we continue our Board of Directors Spotlight Series with Sue Ackley of Oil Change Plus in Missouri.

How has AOCA benefited you as a fast lube business operator?

AOCA has been an amazing resource for me for 24 years. I’ve learned so much about the industry and I’ve met some outstanding owners, operators, managers and techs along the way.

What challenges do you see facing the industry today and in years to come?

Electric cars will continue their expansion. Drain intervals will also remain an issue of concern.

What do you do in your spare time, when you’re not running your business?

In my spare time, I love to travel the world.
