Aug. 23, 2019—Lots of local news outlets host annual "best of" or "readers' choice" events to drum up reader engagement and highlight local businesses.
One of the most recent for the quick lube industry came from the Free Times of Columbia, S.C. Express Oil Change and Tire Engineers took home "Best Oil Change" this year, and the runners-up include Complete Car Care, Metro AutoWorks and Take 5 Oil Change shops.
NOLN decided to poke around to see what other shops have been recognized in similar promotions. There are many.
City Pulse in Lansing, Mich. recognized the local Valvoline Instant Oil Change as the best oil change in town. Runners-up there are Fast Eddie's Car Wash and Oil Change, as well as Frankie D's.
The Columbia Daily Herald in Columbia, Tenn. gave best oil change to Gateway Tire in its Best of Maury County event.
What about Craig, Colo.? Back in June, the Craig Press awarded Lube Plus with best oil change that included a nice article with the 23-year-old local business.
“Once you try us, you’ll be hooked for life,” shop manage Amelia Miller told the paper. “We treat everybody like family.”
The Davis Enterprise of Davis, Calif. recognized Vander Hamm Tire Center-Goodyear for its readers' choice best oil change. Runners-up there are Davisville Express Lube and SpeeDee Oil Change.
Myers' Service Center won best oil change from the Beaver County Times of Aliquippa, Penn.
There are so many. In Alice, Texas, the honor went to Kwik Kar Oil and Lube, according to the Alice Echo-News. Absolute Car Care in Milford, Mass. got the best oil change award from the Milford Daily News. In Canton, Ohio, it was Hills & Dales Auto Service, according to the Canton Repository.
The list can go on, but it's great to see local news outlets promoting these quick lube shops for their work. And congrats to those shops!
