Robinair announces new refrigerant analyzers for R-134a or R-1234yf A/C systems

Robinair has released its new R-ID (#16990) and R-ID Plus (#16995) Refrigerant Analyzers, which allows technicians to quickly and accurately determine the refrigerant purity of a vehicle’s A/C system. The R-ID and R-ID Plus Refrigerant Analyzers are designed for use on vehicles with either R-134a or the newer R-1234yf refrigerant.

Powered by an internal lithium ion battery, the R-ID and R-ID Plus measures the percentage of R-1234yf, R-134a, R-12 refrigerants, as well as R-22 and Hydrocarbon contaminants. An optional R-12 hose is required for technicians to be able to test R-12 refrigerant. The analyzers also measure the percent air in pure R-1234yf and R-134a refrigerants.

The tools are certified to the SAE J2912 standard and can connect directly to any SAE J2843 or J3030 A/C service machine with an external USB port. Each device has a large, easy to read color display that shows analysis results and helps technicians to determine the next step of an A/C system service.

The R-ID Plus Refrigerant Analyzer is equipped with the same features and functionality as the R-ID Refrigerant Analyzer but adds an internal printer to print final test results.

Total Expands Engine Oil Product Line

Total Specialties USA, Inc. announced the addition of new engine oil, called Total Quartz 9000 Future XT 0W-16.

The new engine oil is positioned to meet the needs of a market that is trending towards lower viscosities, according to a press release. Total Lubriciants will now offer it to the U.S. market as it gets ready to service applicable 2018 vehicles that require 0W-16 formulations.

The new engine oil is crafted to protect smaller turbocharged engines and delivers high fuel efficiency during complete drain intervals. It is a full synthetic, high-performance engine oil that offers quick starts even in cold temperatures and protects against LSPI (low-speed pre-ignition) that is found in newer engines.

Official certification for GF-6B starts on May 1.

Gearwrench Introduces New Chrome Hex Bit Sockets

Automotive and industrial mechanics don’t have time for tools that come up short. So, Gearwrench is introducing new additions to its Chrome Hex Bit Socket line that literally reach farther to provide greater access and ease compared to standard shorter hex keys.

C.A.T. Products Newest Addition to Premium Line of Cleaners

C.A.T. Products, Inc. (Run-Rite) is proud to introduce the Diesel Fuel Induction Kit to add to its proven detergents and additive packages. This 3-stage kit cleans up injectors both from traditional coking and internal deposits that cause sticking. New Snap-on torque wrench delivers more muscle in less space

The new Snap-on ATECH2FR125B 3/8" Drive TechAngle Flex-Head Torque Wrench provides the same benefits as fellow ATECH series tools, but with more range, strength, and accuracy. 

With a 5-125 ft-lb working range, technicians are able to use this torque wrench for a wider array of applications including passenger tires, engines, and suspensions. The tool’s strong yoke is engineered for a higher torque load with added steel mass, as well as an extremely tight tolerance ratchet tang-to-yoke fit.
