The initiative for the shop is called "Oil Changes for Education."

September 28, 2019—VIP Tires and Service announced that its Framingham, Mass. shop recently raised nearly $5,000 for the local schools.

The donation of $4,930 was the result of the shop's Oil Changes for Education program, according to a press release. The shop put $10 from oil change services toward the initiative.

Framingham VIP representatives presented the check to the local school superintendent on Sept. 23.

“Finding a way to get involved in the local community is important to every VIP employee in Framingham,” shop manager Michael Escolas said in the release. “Giving back to the community is in our DNA as a company. This program has been wonderful and has allowed us to meet so many local residents. We want to thank everyone who visited us for a $10 oil change in support of our local schools and hope they will keep coming back to VIP for all their car service needs.”

VIP reported that nearly 500 customers contributed to the cause over a six-month period. The company has also launched similar efforts at other shops among its 59-store network.
