ACA to Present Technologies, Aftermarket Opportunities at AAPEX

Oct. 18, 2019

The Auto Care Association and its partners are offering industry education and solutions regarding ADAS, CAV, V2X, Embedded Systems, and SVI. It's all explained here.

Oct. 18, 2019—The Auto Care Association will host a presentation on "maintenance and repair of automated systems" during AAPEX (Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo) in November.

The ACA and various partner organizations will cover technology topics like Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS); Connected and Automated Vehicles (CAVs); V2X; Automotive Embedded Systems and the Secure Vehicle Interface (SVI) through video demonstrations; live presentations; discussions; and more, according to a press release.

“In less than five years, 90 percent of new cars will be wirelessly transmitting real-time driver behavior and vehicle data,” said ACA President Bill Hanvey, in the release. “These advanced vehicle technologies will have a lasting influence on our industry, which means securing the authentication and standardization of accessing vehicle telematics will be vital to the aftermarket’s ability to maintain and repair these vehicles down the road.”

Ownership and transmission of vehicle data is an emerging policy issue for the automotive service sectors. In July, NOLN covered the debate in "The Battle Over Telematics Data."

AAPEX is Nov. 5 to Nov. 7 in Las Vegas, Nev.
