Alfred State College Begins Year with Rebranded Tech Facility

The technical training facility at the school receives support from Icahn Automotive's "Race to 2026" initiative.

Dec. 3, 2019—Icahn Automotive is celebrating the new school year at one of its sponsored technical programs through the "Race to 2026" initiative.

Alfred State College of Technology, part of the State University of New York system, rebranded with "refreshing" new graphics and messages, according to a press release from Icahn.

“Alfred State graduates are in a unique position because they graduate with the technical skills to perform automotive service, plus the business acumen that’s needed to manage a shop,” Icahn Service CEO Brian Kaner in a press release.  “As a national service network that can both put students to work part-time and put them on the path of owning their own franchise someday, we’re excited about the possibilities for Alfred State students.”

The initiative is aimed at supporting students who are attending automotive technical programs in anticipation of a projected labor need by 2026. Alfred State’s automotive technology program is NATEF Master Certified and draws students from across the Northeast, the release says.

Icahn brands include Pep Boys, AAMCO and Precision Tune Auto Care.
