Jan. 21, 2020

That's north of the U.S. border, to be exact. The rapidly growing quick lube brand has entered the Canadian market.

Jan. 21, 2020—Take 5 Oil Change is making its first foray into the Canadian market with the acquisition of 39 Pro Oil Change shops in four provinces.

The announcement was made on Jan. 21 in a press release. The shops are located in British Columbia, New Brunswick, Ontario and Prince Edward Island.

Pro Oil Change started in 1996, according to the release.

“We are thrilled to announce our entrance into the Canadian market through the conversion of Pro Oil Change shops, and welcome our new franchisees to our growing Take 5 Oil Change family,” said Danny Rivera, who is the executive vice president and group president of Retail Auto Service. “We are committed to providing the best oil change experience in the market and look forward to ensuring our customers in Canada get just that.”

Rivera is also the president of the Take 5 brand.

Take 5 is now well over 500 shops. Its parent company, Driven Brands, includes names like CARSTAR, Uniban, Meineke, Maaco, ABRA and 1-800-Radiator.
