Jan. 27, 2020

Spiffy partnered with PRTI on its Spiffy Green project in order to send used tires to the company's processing plants, which can demanufacture and break them down into carbon char, steel, and oil.

Jan. 27, 2020—Spiffy announced the launch of its green tire services, rolling out for individuals in the Raleigh-Durham area in North Carolina and fleets across Spiffy's 20 markets. The mobile auto services company has had an oil change service in place since 2017.

The initiative, Spiffy Green, is in partnership with PRTI, a company focused on zero-waste with tires, and their patented PRTI Thermal Demanufacturing process. Together, Spiffy is able to send used tires to PRTI processing plants, which can demanufacture and break them down into carbon char, steel, and oil, according to the press release.

The new Spiffy Tires service offers mobile and fixed-site tire installation for fleets and features brands such as Michelin, Continental, and BF Goodrich.
