May 4, 2020—More than 100 business organizations and trade associations have banded together to create America's Recovery Fund Coalition, which advocates for a grant-based federal assistance program, according an Auto Care Association press release, which is also a part of the coalition.

According to the release, a letter was sent to President Trump, congressional leaders, and the Secretary of the Treasury. In the letter, the coalition stated that existing programs, like the Paycheck Protection Program, have helped with the impact of COVID-19, but called for more options to address the need for additional capital to support these businesses.

The letter also states how the coalition's members span 30 business sectors and employ 45 percent of the nation's workforce—more than 58 million workers.
