Premium trucks have exploded in popularity over the past few years, and automakers keep coming out with increasingly more luxurious pickups. Now, Ford is upping the ante once again with the 2016 F-150 Limited. Equipped with such niceties as massaging multi-contour front seats and genuine fiddleback eucalyptus trim, the new Limited model slots above the Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum F-150 models.
The 2016 Ford F-150 Limited will be offered in four colors, including Shadow Black, Blue Jeans, Magnetic, and Platinum Metallic tri-coat. All Limited models ride on 22-inch polished aluminum wheels, and get raised "Limited" lettering on the hood and a unique grille and satin-finished chrome tailgate badge. The front bumper is chrome with body-color end caps, while the rear is completely body-color. Satin-chrome door handles, a chrome exhaust tip, and bright belt moldings finish off the look.
The Limited comes standard with a blind spot monitoring system with cross-traffic alert, panoramic vista roof, power-deployable running boards, quad-beam LED headlights, remote start, SYNC 3 infotainment system, a Sony 10-speaker audio system, heated and cooled massaging seats, and heated rear seats. All Limited models also receive a laser-engraved VIN plate on the center console lid, uniqe floor mats, a unique instrument cluster, and fiddleback eucalyptus and aluminum interior trim pieces. Scuff plates with ice blue backlighting display the "Limited" logo. An optional technology package adds a lane-keeping system, 360-degree camera, and dynamic trailer hitch assist.
Powering the F-150 Limited is the twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6, producing 365 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. That engine comes mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, and allows for a 10,100-pound max towing capacity when properly equipped. Ford has yet to announce pricing on the Limited trim, but you can expect that it won't be cheap.
The 2016 Ford F-150 Limited goes on sale this winter.
