Officials from all over Henry County came to support business owner and state Sen. Emmanuel Jones Friday morning for the grand opening of Quick Lane Tire and Auto Service Center.

The new business is located next to Jones’ Legacy Ford dealership on Industrial Boulevard. Ten jobs have been created at the center.

The 54,000 -quare foot facility is on the property of a former abandoned warehouse and has undergone a complete renovation, a near $2 million investment.

Jones said he acquired the property two years ago.

“It was abandoned, nature had taken it over, it was an eyesore right next to my dealership,” he said.

Henry County Chairman Tommy Smith thanked Jones for the new business.

“When the economy got tough you stayed the drill, and when it came back you came back with it,” Smith said.

Mayor Bill Copeland commented on the new facility as being “a beautiful edition to McDonough,” compared to the site’s previous appearance.

Quick Lane, at 507 Industrial Blvd., is a registered trademark of Ford, but services all makes and models.
