July 7, 2021—New franchisees will be bringing 10 Take 5 locations to the Washington, D.C., and Maryland markets.
Brothers Syed Mujahid and Syed Abid Iqbal will open the 10 locations following "successful growth" as Popeye's Chicken franchisees, according to a press release. The brothers moved from Pakistan 15 years ago for college and have since gone into several different business ventures.
The release said as the brothers sought to diversify their portfolio outside the restaurant business, the two found Take 5 and its service of "an essential need" in quick oil to be the opportunity they were looking for.
“You can drive a car with bad tires for a while, or a dented fender, but a regular oil change is essential to the continuing operation of your vehicle,” added Syed Abid. “The need is there, and no one excels at the customer service aspect of meeting that need better than the Take 5 brand.”
