Oct. 6, 2021—Metrolube Companies, a Orlando-based franchisee of Valvoline Instant Oil Change, donated 60 bikes to the Florida Alliance of Boys and Girls Clubs.
According to a news release, a group of 115 managers from across the company participated in a bike-building challenge as part of a service center manager meeting. After reading letters from the children who would be receiving the bikes, those in attendance split into teams and spent two hours building the bikes.
“I’m honored to be part of an event that gives back to the community," Metrolube Vice President Justin Maples said. "It’s been a thoroughly humbling experience. I mean, there’s nothing better than making a kid smile.”
The bikes will be given out "at a later date, by discretion of the Boys & Girls Clubs," according to the release.
