Oct. 21, 2021—Auto shops across the country are still feeling the effects of nationwide parts and labor shortages.

According to Maryland CBS affiliate WBOC, local shops are seeing larger quantities of parts and supplies on back order, meaning higher costs and longer waits for customers.

“We're scrambling to get parts anywhere we can to keep people on the road so we ship stuff from California or wherever we got to go to get it," Pohanka of Salisbury Parts Director Herb Williams says, "so it's tying up a lot of our time searching and trying to locate these parts."

Motor oil shortage was also specifically mentioned in the report, and several shop owners say they don't know when delays will end.
