Jan. 31, 2022—The quick lube industry was well-represented on this year's Franchise 500 list.
Jiffy Lube ranked No. 37 on the list, its highest position since reaching No. 23 in 2016, and Valvoline was two spots behind at No. 39.
"The effects of the pandemic are evident. But so is the overall resilience of the industry, as many franchisors adapted and evolved to hold steady—or even grow," Entrepreneur Magazine said about the list this year. "And the attraction of franchising as a method of expansion clearly hasn’t faded, as hundreds of newer companies have submitted for our list, resulting in a record-breaking number of applicants."
The list ranks the attractiveness of franchising with a certain company, based on factors such as brand strength, cost of opening a franchise, support and growth opportunities.
Take 5 Oil Change, owned by Driven Brands, and FullSpeed Automotive subsidiary Grease Monkey also ranked in the top 200 spots.
