Feb. 21, 2022—Stellantis is recalling nearly 20,000 Chrysler hybrid minivans after a "routine company review of customer data" found 12 reports of fires.

According to a report from the Detroit Free Press, the automaker is voluntarily recalling 19,808 Chrysler Pacifica plug-in hybrid minivans from the 2017 and 2018 model years and is warning owners not to park them inside and not to charge their vehicles.

"Stellantis is working to confirm the cause of the fires," Stellantis said in a news release cited in the report. "The remedy, when developed, will be provided free of charge, and affected customers will be advised when they may schedule service."

Of the 12 fires reported, Stellantis said all were parked and turned off, and eight were actively charging. The company said it was not aware of any injuries or accidents related to the recall.
